When I first saw the Portrait of Captain Thomas Lee by Marcus Gheeraerts the Younger, I thought it would make a marvelous LiveJournal userpic, just scrolling down his body for a slow reveal.

Unfortunately, I don't have the ability to create animated GIFs, though I can simulate the effect by scripting an iframe to cycle through multiple static images.


And for the benefit of anyone who can create animated GIFs, here are the files you'll need:
