Quick conference takeaways
Posted by Lis Riba at 7:57 AM

IA Summit 2008 ended yesterday; was very good.

Some quick bullet points gleaned from the aggregate:

  • Half the presentators I saw talked about Barry Schwartz's Paradox of Choice -- I shoulf probably read it ASAP
  • Half to a third of attendees seemed to have an iPhone or iPod Touch. I am covetous, but the ASUS EEEs I saw also look tempting
  • Much talk of pattern design libraries
  • Ditto for recipe metaphors
  • Several panels on "eating our own dogfood" -- using UX tools within the workplace and in other parts of our lives.
  • These are my kind of people...

I have about 20 pages of notes in my steno pad to transcribe, so more later.

For now, I'm on vacation...

I need to turn off the game and get some sleep.

[How I know I'm not in Boston. A Red Sox/Yankees game is playing on the TV, and I'm the only one in the restaurant watching. Glad I caught what I did, because some really impressive plays the first couple innings...]

Melts in your mouth?

Ever since I saw an ad for custom-printed M&Ms, I've been thinking about something like this:

Soylent greens

What do you think?

Would you eat them?
