Tilting at the Windmills in My Mind
Sharing one of those concepts that won't let go of me:
The Duchess of Malfoy
Narcissa Malfoy and Bellatrix Lestrange are worried that their sister Andromeda will marry beneath her station. So they arrange for Severus Bosola Snape to spy on her household on their behalf. Sure enough, she soon falls in love with Muggleborn Ted Tonks...
Rowling's characters map to John Webster's fairly well. Quoting descriptions from Wikipedia, we have:
- The Cardinal/Narcissa: cool, rational, Machiavellian ... apparently gained power through bribery and corruption
- Ferdinand/Bellatrix: given to fits of rage and violent outbursts
- Bosola/Snape: tends to view things cynically, and makes numerous critical comments ... frequently characterized by his melancholy
Anybody care to pick this up and run with it?
