My Admission of failure - Either admit we've been overcome by events or let someone else lead
- posted by Daniel @ 3:21 PM
I regret that I am finding that I, too, cannot find the time and energy to lead this project at this time. I'm falling behind on tasks at both work and home I and think I need to refocus my energy accordingly.
I read the analysis that Rich posted last month and I think it makes our points fairly well in an abbreviated form.
Lis, perhaps the thing to do is make a more public announcement (say through LIS News, librarian.net, Library Juice, and perhaps by direct e-mails to ACLU, CDT, and EFF) that the LL.info domain is available and transfer it someone who seems willing and able to take it forward. Preferably someone already currently outspoken against the PATRIOT Act so we don't get a site like LL.com. This is just a suggestion. You bought the domain, you should have final say about what's done with it.
We might also consider publicizing this blog. Although it's not the organized site that we'd like, I think the three of us have posted some valid criticisms and good stories on what's wrong with the Act.
Again, I'm sorry that I've proved to be a disappointment. - Daniel

Another delay on my part
- posted by Daniel @ 12:58 AM
Dear Lis and anyone else within sight of this message. I haven't been able to get pages together before my conference followed by vacation. I won't be able to have anything ready before the first week of November.
IF ANYONE ELSE wants to put up something before then - DO SO. I will provide content support when I return. If not, I should have pages available for loading onto lifeandliberty.info by the end of the first week of November.

Point of information
- posted by Lis @ 12:01 PM
This journal may be inaccessible over the weekend as I move hosts again.
The good news is that if this works, I may be able to set up a host site for lifeandliberty.info in the following weeks if you (Daniel) want to get content ready.

Apologies and an offer
- posted by Lis @ 5:05 PM
I'm really impressed with what everybody else here has managed to accomplish.
Unfortunately, I have to acknowledge that I simply don't have the energy to devote to this project.
I started this whole thing and own the domain, but have neither time to contribute content nor a place to host it.
I'm really sorry if I'm letting folks down.
I would like to offer management of the lifeandliberty.info domain to somebody who can give it the care and attention it deserves.
I will keep this discussion board running as long as people are interested in using it, and maybe by the end of the month, I might have a hosting site if there is content to post, but I don't want to make any guarantees I can't live up to.
I think we've got a good thing going here, in spite of my shameful neglect. I'm hoping somebody here will be willing to take over leadership of the project.
Any volunteers?
