  - Final Project (PDF): For Subject Analysis, I indexed a weblog. This is my writeup of the experience.
    In her comments, the professor wrote "I would like you to write this up for The Indexer."
    [I also have a PowerPoint presentation on the topic, but (a) it really only makes sense with the speaker notes, and (b) it's incredibly large (as Microsoft files are wont to be) so I don't want to take the bandwidth hit. Request it if you're interested.]
  - The Digital divide: This was written for Computers in Society.
  - Trend analysis in information science: This was written for Computers in Society.
  - The USA PATRIOT Act: the response and responsibility of library management: This paper was written for my library management class in late July 2002. I hope others find it useful.
  - Children's Issues in Online Catalog Design: This article was accepted by a library science journal, but the magazine folded before it could be published.
  - Amazon.com vs. INNOPAC: This research proposal was written for another library science class. Includes the accompanying Freelance presentation.
  - ODBC: Windows to the Outside World: I co-authored this paper in 1995 with my father, who presented it at numerous SAS conferences.

  - Usenet posts: I got my first Usenet account in 1988, and have been a fairly heavy participant ever since. Probably the bulk of my writings to date have been on Usenet and other online discussions. Now that this website exists, I am in the process of converting some of these posts into essays.
  - Movie reviews: In the summer of 1990, I worked as an Arts reporter for The Justice, Brandeis University's student newspaper, and wrote several movie reviews. I also posted those reviews to Usenet, where they were later picked up by IMDB.
  - Book reviews: Here are some book reviews I wrote on Amazon.com. For a brief while, I was a "Top 500" reviewer, but once I reached that milestone, I lost interest in posting further.
  - Barnicle timeline: When Mike Barnicle got into trouble with the Boston Globe in 1998, I got involved in the Usenet debate over his transgressions. This research led to two posts deliniating the history of his transgressions, which have been given a permanent home on Boston-Online. Dan Kennedy, The Boston Phoenix media reporter, referenced me in one of his articles.
